Today you explore Quito with some degustation of its classics products. Your journey starts with a visit to Independence Square to admire its beauty and learn about the Presidential guards. In the same place, you visit Archiepiscopal Palace, here is the first degustation of the local sweets available only in Quito old town, they are homemade and you can combine the flavours. There is also an ice cream shop, where ice creams are made in an artisanal way, with only fresh fruit juice. This trip continues walking through one of the special streets of the colonial town, where you will feel the real Quito, with its locals and small stores. The walk takes you to your next degustation at Café Galleti, this café has been in Quito old town for many years and here you can enjoy of wonderful snacks such as sweet figures and smashed corn, called humitas. To take a break of the flavours, your walk continues to admire the churches, theatres and squares of Quito. Quito has some different colonial style houses and you have the opportunity to learn about the religion in Ecuador, how the art of the locals started converting from indigenous to religion. Your guide takes you through the streets of the colonial town, pointing out special details that tell a lot of Ecuador culture and history. La Compañia church, Plaza San Francisco, Cantuña Chappel, El Alabado Museum are some of the sites you visit with this special tour. Also, a visit to the local market gives you the opportunity to taste different tropical fruits, see the textures and enjoy the rich flavours. After this delicious experience, your guide and driver take you back to the hotel.
