      Detailed Itinerary

      DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN QUITO
      Today your guide and driver welcome you in Quito city and take you from the airport to your hotel, where you stay for the next three nights.

      DAY 2: QUITO HALF DAY VISIT
      Your guide picks you up from your hotel, after breakfast. The visit starts in Quito colonial town, where you have a walking tour, visiting the colonial streets, plazas and churches. Your guide takes you back to colonial times where the religion was a very important issue and from which the art and politics were based. After this visit, your guide and driver take you to the northwestern part of Quito, to have a very rich experience in the Equator Monument where you can stand in two hemispheres at once. Here you learn about how the scientist discovered the cross of the Equator Line. The tour ends back at your hotel, however, if you prefer to have lunch or stay in a specific place in Quito, your driver is glad to drop you off wherever in Quito you require.

      DAY 3: INDIGENOUS MARKET, LOCAL TOWNS, CUICOCHA LAKE
      This is a full day expedition, that starts early in the morning with your guide and driver picking you at the hotel. The drive to Otavalo market takes around 2 hours, however, your first stop outside of Quito is in Cayambe town, this little town is known for its special salty biscuits, cheese and caramel fudge and today you can do a degustation on the way. Upon arrival at the Otavalo market, you have free time to visit the market and buy souvenirs, this market is very famous and you can find many special crafts. Your guide can suggest you where and how to buy from locals. If language is a problem, he/she is there to assist you. After this wonderful visit, you have time to relax and enjoy a wonderful lunch in a local hacienda. The journey continues to Cuicocha Lake, after a 45-minute drive, you arrive at this wonderful place! Cuicocha was formed by the melted glaciers from Cotacachi volcano. You have the option to ride a boat around this lake (paid directly to the locals) or walk through the moorlands around the lake (up to one hour only). There is also an interpretation centre where you learn about the creation of this wonderful crater. On the way back to Quito, you do a final stop in Cotacachi town, where you can shop for leather goods or have a little snack in one of the nice cafés around this little town. You arrive in Quito late in the afternoon.

      DAY 4: DEPARTURE DAY
      The end of this wonderful expedition has arrived. Today, your guide and driver take you back to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
