      Detailed Itinerary

      DAY 1: ARRIVAL DAY
      Today your guide and driver welcome you at the airport in Quito and take you to the hotel.

      DAY 2: NORTHERN ANDES EXPEDITION
      After a wonderful breakfast, your guide and driver take you to the northern part of Quito, the 2-hour drive takes you through a beautiful road on which you can spot Cayambe snow-capped volcano, San Pablo Lake, the majestic Imbabura volcano and Cotacachi volcano. The road continues to Cuicocha lake, this crater was created by melted ice from Cotacachi volcano's eruption. Here you can enjoy a wonderful hike around the lake or hire the boat tour. Also, you can opt for just enjoy the Interpretation centre and relax with the wonderful views of the lake with its great Cotacachi volcano in the back.
      After this visit, you have a wonderful lunch in one of the haciendas near the area. Before getting back to Quito, your guide and driver take you to Otavalo Indigenous market, where you can walk around and buy some souvenirs.
      Return to Quito late in the afternoon.

      DAY 3: CENTRAL ANDES EXPEDITION
      This morning, after breakfast and checking out from your hotel in Quito, your journey starts driving south, through the Avenue of volcanoes. This amazing road has wonderful views of several volcanoes: Pichincha, Guagua Pichincha, Rumiñahui, Sincholahua, Pasochoa, North & South Ilinizas and the majestic Cotopaxi volcano.
      Cotopaxi National Park is just a few minutes from the road. Your guide and driver take you to visit the Interpretation Centre and learn about the history of this volcano. Cotopaxi volcano is one of the highest active snow-capped volcanoes in the world. The expedition continues with a small walk that leads you to Limpiopungo Lake, a small lake that is the habitat of certain Andean bird species and a small group of wild horses. Should you wish more adventure, you have the option to walk up to the refuge, the hike takes around 1 hour, however, walking on high altitude can be quite demanding.
      After this wonderful morning, your well-deserved lunch awaits in a local hacienda, where you can have some time to relax before continuing the journey to Chugchilan. This is a small Andean village where you spend the night.

      DAY 4: CENTRAL ANDES EXPEDITION
      After a delicious breakfast, you have the option to hike from Chugchilan to Quilotoa, this is a moderate-high level hike that ends with a wonderful view of the crater lake. This hike takes from 4-6 hours. The other option is to drive directly to Quilotoa Crater and walk down to the shore of the lake. This hike is easy and the return can be done riding local mules or hiking back up. Either option is filled with wonderful Andean views and special things to spot on the way.
      A nutritive boxed lunch is provided for you, however, if you prefer, there are local restaurants that offer a menu (local soup, rice with meat and juice). After this beautiful journey, you continue to the south and after a 3-hour drive, you arrive at Baños town.
      A delicious dinner at the hotel is waiting for you.

      DAY 5: WATERFALL ROUTE
      This morning you have a wonderful journey ahead of you! Your guide and drive take you to the waterfall route in Baños, this road is filled with wonderful views and waterfalls where you can stop and visit them. This expedition can be done by bike or by car. Bikes are available to rent in Baños town (this cost is not included in the program) and you can ride through the road doing stops for admiring the wonderful views. Your guide is with you throughout. The last stop is the entrance to Pailon del Diablo, this wonderful waterfall is reached through an easy trail through the lush green of the area and after a few km of a fun hike, you arrive at the majestic of Pailon del Diablo. After this wonderful experience, your guide and driver take you back to Baños, by car.  You have the option to  have a boxed lunch or a local lunch in the area (included in the price).

      DAY 6: RETURN TO QUITO
      Today you have the morning at leisure to rest and relax, your guide and driver are at your disposal should you wish to do an additional excursion to the area. Your guide is going to coordinate with you the return to Quito, however, it should not be later than 15h00. Once in Quito, your guide and drive drop you off at the hotel.

      After these wonderful days, today is time to continue for your next destination. Your guide and driver take you to the airport for your flight.
