Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN QUITO

Today your guide and driver are waiting at the airport to take you to your hotel.

DAY 2: CHOCOLATE FACTORY IN QUITO

After breakfast, your guide and driver take you to visit a special organic chocolate factory in Quito. This company has won several awards for the best organic chocolate in the world. Pacari factory gives you a tour of the different process that takes to have fine chocolate. After this sweet visit, you have a wonderful lunch in a local restaurant before returning to the hotel.

DAY 3: CHOCOLATE FACTORY IN MINDO

Today you have an early departure towards the Northwestern area. A two hour-drive takes you through wonderful landscapes to arrive at Mindo Cloud Forest. This area is a beautiful place where you can enjoy nature, but also, your guide takes you to visit an artisanal chocolate factory. Here you learn the process of chocolate from the harvesting to the final product and after this tour, you have the opportunity to taste a very good Ecuadorian chocolate. After this great visit, you have a wonderful lunch in the area. Before returning to Quito, you have one last stop at the butterfly greenhouse to learn about the different species of butterflies, how they lay their eggs and what plants they eat. You are able to see these little animals through the entire process from egg to butterfly. This day ends back at your hotel in Quito.
